Description: Please join me for a moderately-challenging early summer out and back hike on an incredibly scenic portion of the Appalachian Trail that begins at Carver's Gap and leads to the Yellow Mountain Gap. We will climb Round Bald then Jane Bald taking in views of the beautiful layers of mountains and wild mountain flowers. We will proceed to the summit of Grassy Ridge continuing on for an ethereal hike in the forest and past the Stan Murray shelter. We will veer toward the Overmountain Victory Trail stopping at the Overmountain campground for lunch, water, and rest. Please bring sunscreen, a hat, snacks, and food. Carpool details will be provided a week before the hike--this is a long drive from the Piedmont-Triad so be prepared for a long day out!
